Following his M.Phil., Bilal Murtaza embarked on a Ph.D. program at the College of Bioengineering, Dalian University of Technology, China, under the supervision of Prof. Xu Yongping. His Ph.D. research, supported by the International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, focused on the biodegradation of mycotoxins, particularly zearalenone and deoxynivalenol, by plant rhizobacteria and probiotic strains.
