Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weilun Kong is an accomplished scholar in geology and environmental sciences, currently serving at the Anhui Technical College of Industry and Economy. He holds a Ph.D. in Geology, an M.S. in Environmental Science, and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering, all from Hefei University of Technology. His academic journey reflects a strong interdisciplinary foundation, merging geological principles with environmental engineering practices. Before entering academia, he accumulated valuable industrial experience as an engineer in environmental equipment manufacturing and high-voltage switchgear production. Since transitioning to academia, Dr. Kong has been deeply involved in geological education and research, contributing significantly to the understanding of geoheritage and cultural geology, especially in the Chaohu Lake Region of China. He has successfully led several major research projects, including the Potential Investigation for the Construction of Geo-cultural Villages in the Chaohu Lake Region and the Investigation Report on the Geological Background of Cultural Tourism Resources. His research has resulted in impactful publications in high-quality journals such as Geoheritage, where he explored topics like urban geoheritage under anthropogenic pressure and Chinese scholars’ stones as heritage resources. Dr. Kong’s scholarly contributions are recognized internationally, with his work cited in 18 documents, amassing a total of 19 citations from 3 publications, and achieving an h-index of 2, reflecting both the reach and depth of his research impact. His academic interests lie in geoheritage conservation, geological tourism resources, and environmental geology, where he continues to bridge scientific understanding with cultural and sustainable development perspectives.
