Yanju Liu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Meteorology from the Department of Applied Meteorology at Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, completed between September 1991 and June 1995. She further pursued a Master’s degree in Climatology at the Department of Atmospheric Science, Nanjing University, from September 1995 to June 1998. She also earned her Doctorate in Meteorology from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences during the same period.

Yanju Liu has had a distinguished career at the National Climate Center under the China Meteorological Administration. She began in project management at the Science and Technology Department from July 1998 to September 2001. From October 2001 to May 2005, she transitioned into climate and climate change research.
